ANXIETY & DEPRESSION are a PRISON By: Lance Taylor

Updated: Apr 10

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Anxiety and depression are an afterthought, an affect of fear left unfaced, unresolved, and left

to fester in the deepest parts of ourselves. These two evildoers block faith, truth, and love. It is so important for us to pay close attention to our thoughts and feelings. They are a map to the highest reality; truth on earth and in heaven when allowed to be transformed by God. Once we have submitted to the truth and the love of God, He begins to live within. He starts to do His Holy work of healing our souls, and He begins to guide us to our destiny. God is the best physician that ever was, is, or will be; He is the Soul Doctor. Therefore, do not procrastinate the sacrificial work within.

James 2:26 “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

Procrastination is the thief of time, the slayer of dreams, and the oppressor of God's truth, love, and well being for our lives. In this relationship, with God, we dance. He leads and we follow. But we still have our steps to take and memorize, timing to work out, and an endurance that needs to be built up. Once we learn to do this dance well, we'll begin to relax

and have some fun.

Pslam 90:12 “So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom”

Do not get bogged down by yesterday, it's already gone; or by tomorrows problems that may not ever happen. Instead, live for today and trust God, clean your own house, and help others.

Application : Make a to-do-list each week and check it off as you complete each task. Refocus and rewrite your goals throughout your week if needed. Save your to-do-list to review each month or quarter to realize all accomplished through your hard work and faith. Don't forget to thank God and

reflect on the prayers God has answered for you and your loved ones. Lastly go into nature or your community and experience God's creation first hand. Even if you only have five minutes to spare, take time to make a plan, thank God, and smell the roses.
